Distinguished Honorees

Dr. Madeleine K. Albright - The William O. Douglas Award

Former US Secretary of State and Ambassador to the United Nations, Dr. Madeleine K. Albright is receiving the William O. Douglas Award for her lifelong commitment to justice, democracy and human rights.

The Award will be presented to her by her predecessor as Secretary of State, Warren M. Christopher.

 

 


Southern California Edison – Corporate Achievement Award

Southern California Edison logoSouthern California Edison will be receiving the Corporate Achievement Award for their exemplary corporate citizenship and their remarkable commitment to strengthening the fabric of our community and our society. In receiving this year’s Award, SCE has the special distinction of being the first corporation to receive this Award twice -- the first time being in 1997.

John E. BrysonReceiving the award will be John E. Bryson, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President of Edison International, the parent company of Southern California Edison.

Presenting the Award will be Ronald L. Olson of the law firm of Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP.

 


Holland & Knight LLP – Law Firm Pro Bono Award

Holland & Knight LLP logoThe international law firm of Holland & Knight LLP, is receiving the Law Firm Pro Bono Award for the breadth and sophistication of their pro bono efforts on behalf of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Accepting the award will be the Managing Partner of the firm, Howell W. Melton, Jr.

Presenting the 2007 Law Firm Pro Bono Award is Paul W. Critchlow, Vice Chairman, Public Markets and counselor to the Chairman of Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc.

 


Monty HallMonty Hall – Justice in Arts and Media Award

Beloved game show host and television pioneer Monty Hall is receiving the Justice in Arts and Media Award for his lifelong charitable and philanthropic work on behalf of sick and disadvantaged children.

The Award will be presented by his son, Emmy award-winning television producer, Richard Hall.


Paul MagersPaul Magers – Emcee

Emmy Award-winning CBS2 Anchor Paul Magers will serve as the emcee of this year’s event. Magers is the Anchor of the CBS 2 News at 5 PM and CBS 2 News at 11 PM.
