Golfers teed off for a good cause at the Earle Hagen Memorial Golf Tournament benefiting Public Counsel’s Debtors Assistance Project. Public Counsel has assisted thousands of Californians facing possible bankruptcy with free legal advice through its clinic in downtown Los Angeles.

On September 19, leading bankruptcy judges and attorneys gathered together at the Braemar Country Club in Tarzana to support this important work. Public Counsel’s efforts helps Californians make informed decisions about possible bankruptcy and helps courts run more smoothly.

“Southern Californians with low income are facing a debt crisis of historic proportions,”  said Hernán Vera, President & CEO of Public Counsel.  “The bankruptcy community in Southern California should be proud that it is addressing this crisis head-on by partnering with Public Counsel to give people the assistance they need.”

As California’s unemployment rate continues to climb, so does the need for straight talk and sound financial advice. Public Counsel’s clinic is open to the public on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10-2 and 2-4 at the Federal Building located at 300 N. Los Angeles Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
