Women and Girls

NOTE: Clients must meet Public Counsel’s income eligibility guidelines to obtain free legal services; and must be resident of Los Angeles County.

FREE Legal Support:

  • Legal Support for low-income women and girls (including all those who identify as female):
    • Workplace rights (i.e. sexual harassment, discrimination, pregnancy and family leave, fair pay, labor code violations/wage theft)
    • Title IX: gender discrimination in education, including but not limited to sexual harassment
    • Advice and Referrals for:
      • female veterans
      • single moms
      • survivors of gender-based violence (domestic violence, sexual assault)

TO GET HELP:

  • Call Public Counsel at 213 385-2977, EXT. 410 and leave a message on our intake line.
    • Someone from our project will respond within 2-3 days.
  • Or: send an email to wgr@publiccounsel.org.
    • Your message should include the following information:
      • name
      • contact details
      • who referred you
      • legal issue/type of legal services required

Free workshops and individual legal services for low-income women seeking to start-up or grow a small business
