Free Seminar - Advocating with Ease: Navigating Lobbying Restrictions and Requirements -November 15

While nonprofit organizations exempt from taxation under 501(c)(3) may not engage in partisan electoral activity, they can make a meaningful impact on public policy through other forms of advocacy, including lobbying. However, federal lobbying limits and state and local lobbying disclosure rules can be daunting for nonprofits. In this seminar, Public Counsel Chief Operating Officer, Vice President and General Counsel Elizabeth Bluestein and staff attorney Annie Marquit will address the federal, state, and local lobbying rules to empower nonprofits to engage in legislative and administrative advocacy with confidence. Topics to be addressed include federal lobbying limits, state and local “sunshine” laws, and tips for tracking staff lobbying time and lobbying expenses.
