Nonprofit Risk Management Seminar - November 7

Join us on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM for a seminar on "Nonprofit Risk Management" sponsored by Boston Private.

In order to limit liability and maintain long-term health, nonprofits need to understand and manage common areas of risk related to governance, injuries, contracts, finances, regulatory compliance, personnel management, and data security, among others. This session will focus on identifying and assessing risk and useful risk management and mitigation strategies. A panel of experts will share practical advice and tips on areas such as insurance, insurance litigation, and cyber and data security. Co-hosted by Public Counsel, this discussion will answer risk management questions such as:

  • What areas of risk should nonprofits be worried about and how should nonprofits identify potential risks?
  • What does insurance typically cover? What does it not cover?
  • How can a nonprofit assess its cybersecurity risk?
  • What tools can a nonprofit use to mitigate risk?
  • Who in the organization is responsible for risk mitigation?
  • Where can organizations go wrong in implementing risk management policies? What are unexpected areas of liability?

Opening Remarks: Jimar Wilson, VP Community Investment Officer, Boston Private
