Adoption Project White Paper

The Adoption Project, formed in 1997, is an unprecedented partnership of the Los Angeles Juvenile Dependency Court, Los Angeles County Department of Children and Families Services, and two Los Angelesā€based child advocacy organizations, The Alliance for Children's Rights and Public Counsel Law Center.  This collaboration was initiated to reduce the number of children waiting for adoption in Los Angeles County's foster care system, the largest in the nation.  This White Paper sets forth the history of the Adoption Project in the hopes of assisting others in their efforts to secure the path to legal permanency for foster children.
