Great Start Legal Workshops for Early Care Providers

Early care providers know what children need to be successful. But when it comes to understanding legal issues they need an expert on their side.

Many legal predicaments faced by child care providers are avoidable with good planning and solid advice. Public Counsel’s Great Start Legal Workshops offer high quality, low-cost guidance on legal issues that arise in the everyday operation of ECE programs. Workshop topics include: child custody and releasing children from your care, child abuse reporting requirements, limiting your liability as a child care provider, accommodating children with special needs and compliance with state and federal disability laws, and parent-provider contracts.

"I do not know of another organization that is as knowledgeable in the field and as affordable to operators as Public Counsel."

--Cyndee Riding, who operates seven early care centers serving 700 children in Los Angeles County
